“Hands of Stone” tells the story of the rise, fall and redemption of Roberto Duran, the best lightweight boxer of all time; and his relationship with his legendary trainer Ray Arcel.

Roberto Duran is the son of an American Marine who while occupying Panama had an affair with a local girl, and then abandoned her.

Roberto Duran’s journey is fascinating, from rags to riches, from the poorest slum in the world to complete glory in the Madison Square Garden.

A story of love and passion which displays his legendary bouts against Sugar Ray Leonard (considered some of the best in the sport), including his infamous “no mas” fight, the biggest enigma in the history of boxing.

We follow Duran’s downfall after “No Mas” and his redemption, learning from his mistakes and coming back to win a third World Championship against Davey Moore… and more importantly, becoming an example and an inspiration for a generation
